Feelism

A jazz app that hears your solo and answers

The feel of a session,
at home.

Sax, piano, or bass. Plug in, and Feelism plays every part but yours, hears you, and improvises a reply. The app follows your dynamics. Swing, and also bossa and Latin feels.

Practice tunes stay free. Six standards are free to play. About 90 more jazz standards are planned for early November 2026. The added pack is $4.99 per month.

Screen

Read the chart. Play with the band.

Pick a tune and a feel, then press Play. When your solo builds, the band hears it.

Features

The band hears you, and answers.

Answers, and a breath

Not a track that just plays. The band listens and answers.

  • Fills come back after your phrase
  • Dynamics from pp to ff move with how hard you play

The band changes gear

As the energy rises, the accompaniment changes shape.

  • Two-feel and walking four
  • Brushes and other kit changes
  • Automatic double-time when the solo gets dense

You and the band in one mix

Headphones bring you and the band back together. You can feel the immersion of a session.

Delay kept to a minimum

So your sound and the band do not sound out of sync, audio is processed only inside the app.

Record the session

Save a WAV. Choose the mix, your return, or the band alone.

Any instrument

Sax and trumpet, and also guitar, voice, or a MIDI keyboard. Pitch is read from the audio interface.

The chart in your key

B♭ or E♭ horn, you do not transpose in your head. You can also move the whole tune by semitone, and start a key you usually avoid.

Change the meter and the feel

From 4/4 through odd meters. Swing, bossa, afro, cha-cha, baião, and other feels are chosen apart from the meter.

The tune is MusicXML

The chord chart is MusicXML. You can import one without paying, but playback needs a paid plan.

How to start

Three steps to the first note.

  1. 1

Pick a tune and your chair

On Find a tune, choose by title, genre, or feel. When you pick your part, the rest of the band takes the other chairs.

  2. 2

    Connect an audio interface

Instrument into the input, headphones into the output. Mixing your sound back in the app is on by default. Turn it off if the delay bothers you. Per-instrument steps are in the manual.

  3. 3

    Start from the count

The band counts you in. As you build, the band hears it, and the volume and the fills move with you.
