Your own charts
Bring a MusicXML file on your computer into the app without Forum.
How to put a chart file you already have (MusicXML) into the app without going through Forum. The save location is different from importing a Forum pack.
Put the file in
Open Settings (top right) and, under Files, choose a file with the extension .musicxml from Import MusicXML. A compressed .mxl cannot be chosen. After import, the status line shows a note that means you are stating the rights: “(you assert ownership)”. The rights in the file are your responsibility. How to write one is in Make a MusicXML file.
You cannot import while playing or during the count. Press Stop first.
The save location is local in Feelism’s folder on this computer (%AppData%\Feelism\ugc\local\). That is separate from a Forum pack’s publisher folder. Your own files stay as plain .musicxml. Tunes from Forum go under the publisher’s name in the same Feelism folder, as protected files. The same file name is overwritten.
Restart Feelism and they are still in Find a tune. You do not import them again.
Playback
You can import without paying. Playback needs a subscription. The chart stays visible while it is locked. The Find a tune list shows a lock mark.
Cancel, and your imported files are not deleted. Only playback locks.
Remove them
In the Find a tune list, your own charts and Forum charts are grouped (your own are Local, Forum uses the publisher’s name). To remove one tune, use Delete on that row. Press Delete pack on the group heading and that whole folder is removed. Both ask you to confirm. Feelism refuses while you are playing. If the tune you have open is in that pack, it switches to a free tune, then deletes.
Removing a pack you imported from Forum is the same action (the folder name is the publisher’s name).
How this differs from Forum
Your own charts use Import MusicXML in Settings, and the folder is local. Forum uses Import pack in Feelism’s Forum, and the folder is the publisher name written in the guide file inside the ZIP (manifest.json). Only Forum needs a ZIP.
Forum’s steps are in Forum. How to make a ZIP is in Publish a pack.
