Your first session

From install until you hear the band.

From Feelism on the PC to the headphones PC Feelism Headphones
Do not connect the instrument yet. First check that you can hear the band.

This page gets you from installing Feelism to hearing the band in your headphones. The idea of how the sound moves is in What Feelism does. Connecting an instrument is in the next page, Connect your PC and audio interface.

Install

Install Feelism for Windows and open it. Get it from the Microsoft Store (the “Get it on the Microsoft Store” button on the home page, or the download page). The current release is for 64-bit (x64) Windows 10 and 11. 32-bit Windows and Windows 7 are not included. Details are on the download page.

When Feelism opens, you see the tune you had open last time. If that tune is paid, it stays locked. Practice tunes such as Blues play without paying.

If you do not have an audio interface yet

You can still hear the band from the keyboard built into Feelism. That is not the full session, where the band hears your instrument and answers. It is enough to check that Feelism makes sound. See Play with the on-screen keyboard.

Pick a tune

  1. Open Find a tune
  2. For practice, pick something like Feelism Blues

Make sound

Connect headphones or speakers to the computer. Later, when you use an audio interface, use the interface’s output instead.

  1. Press Play. Space does the same thing. Space does nothing while you are typing in a text field.
  2. After the count, piano, bass, and drums come in.
  3. Stop is Space or Esc. If How to use or Find a tune is open, Esc closes that first.

The full key list is the How to use button in Feelism. The same list is in Shortcuts. More about starting and stopping is in Play and Stop.

Next

To have the band respond while you play, go to Connect your PC and audio interface. Photos of a real setup are in A real setup (Studio 24c). If you hear nothing, go to No sound.
