Shortcuts

The How to use button in the app shows the same list. This page is for when you are stuck on the cables and need to read it outside the app.

If a key does nothing, a text field or a button is highlighted. Click an empty part of the chart once, then press the key. Items marked “only while stopped” do nothing while the band is playing.

Playing

• Space … Play and Stop (does nothing while you are typing)
• Esc … Stop. If something is open, it closes that first (News → How to use → Find a tune → Settings → Mix → Record options → Stop)
• The How to use button … open and close How to use (keys ? / F1)
• [ ] … previous tune / next tune (only while stopped)
• - = … tempo down 1 / up 1 (add Shift for 5. Only while stopped)
• , . … start bar back 1 / forward 1 (only while stopped)

Feel and meter

• F … next Feel (Shift+F goes back. Only while stopped)
• M … next meter (Shift+M goes back. Only while stopped)
• L … Lock Feel
• 2 … 2-feel (only while stopped)
• B … Brushes (only while stopped)
• H … Closed hat (Shift+H locks the closed hat. Only while stopped)

The session

• R … Fills
• C … Voice for fills and the theme (Shift+C goes back)
• S … who solos (You / Trade / Handoff. Shift+S goes back)
• T … trade length in bars (the first T sets the soloist to Trade)
• P … Piano on / off (Settings → Band. There is no Shift)
• D … starting dynamic one step stronger (Shift+D softer. Only while stopped)

Level

• G … raise the whole band by 0.05 (Shift+G lowers it)
• K … Click
• X … Self-mix
• Y … Pitch (listening for pitch)
• I … Count-in (only while stopped)
• W … SoundFont (switch the sounds)
• − + on each knob … Click moves by 0.05, Return level by 0.5

The screen

• Ctrl and + − … size of the chart and the staff (Ctrl+0 returns to 100%)
• O … Always on top

With the mouse

• Click the chart or the staff … start from there
• Find a tune … search for a tune (Find a tune)
• Forum … import a pack (Forum)
• Settings … Billing, devices, transposing instrument, click, import, Diagnostics, the chart, and the recordings folder
• Mix … levels, Self-mix, Pitch, reverb (Mix, levels, and reverb)
• Record … start and stop recording (Record)

The Diagnostics screen (Settings → Window → Diagnostics) has its own keys, used only there.
