Paid tunes and the lock

What plays without paying, and how a locked tune looks.

What you can do without paying, and what stays locked. The lock is on Play only. You can read the chart of every tune.

What you can do without paying

  • Practice forms … Blues, Rhythm Changes, and practice tunes in odd meters and many grooves. All of them play. Many names start with Feelism. In Find a tune, pick Practice forms under Genre to list them
  • Free tunes … these six named standards. Doxy / Well You Needn't / Old Devil Moon / Someday My Prince Will Come / Take Five / On Green Dolphin Street
  • Read the chart, rewrite chords, transpose, and record
  • Import a chart file (Your own charts) and import a Forum pack (Forum)

What stays locked

  • Extra standard tunes
  • Imported tunes (ones you brought in yourself, and ones from Forum)

These show 🔒 in the Find a tune list, and beside the tune name at the top of the screen. Press one and the chart opens, but pressing Play does not start. The status line tells you to pick a practice tune or a free tune.

Importing is the part you can do without paying. Putting your own chart into Feelism and reading it as a chart is free. Playing it with the band is the paid part.

Unlock

Paste a license key under Settings → Billing and press Apply (License key).

When you open the app

The app shows the tune you had open before, as it was. If that was a paid tune, it opens still locked. Feelism does not switch you to a free tune on its own. If you want to play right away, pick a practice tune from Find a tune.

After you cancel

The charts and the imported files stay. Only playback locks. Rewritten chords and recordings stay too (Cancel and payment).
